Ms. B’s Purple Bus

Monday, March 29th, 2004

I’m always amazed at the end of the week just how fast it went by. I hope this week goes the same, because even though it’s only Monday it feels like it has been a long week. Soon enough though I’ll be out of school for the summer.

I received a new keyboard for my computer via UPS today. I chatted with the guy a little, asking him about his job. He said that besides the management, the job was great. $25 an hour to drive and deliver packages. I love driving. Maybe I’ll look into a summer job with UPS.

Yesterday I drove Michelle and Kristy to Cleveland, TN so Michelle could exchange a dress her grandmother bought for her. (It was a terrible prom dress.) I bought some sandals and they are the most comfortable footwear I’ve ever worn in my life. I want to sleep in them they’re so comfy. I owe Timberland a great big hug for making my feet happy. After I bought the sandals I went out to my car and changed into them so the rest of my walking would be pleasurable. On the way to TN we stopped at Ms. B’s Purple Bus. For the past four years I have passed this bus on my way to TN but have never stopped. It’s just an old bus that someone painted bright purple and turned it into a little store. The sign out front says “Crashed 1994″. Ms. B sells stuff like retro-hippie clothes, hemp jewelry, etc. On the way back we stopped at a broken down van that is painted like Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine. I have passed this van for the past four years also, but it’s just a van that someone got creative with. It doesn’t do anything. However on the way to TN some people were tanning on top of it.

A lot has happened since I last posted. So much that I hardly remember any of it. I went to the Angie Aparo concert with Michelle. It was one of the best things I’ve done in my entire life. I’ll try to get some pictures up later. After the concert we talked to Angie for about five to ten minutes. He said he wants to do a benefit at YHC for one of the local shelters here. Too bad I’ll be in Atlanta then, but I’ll definitely drive up for it.

That’s all I have time for, for now.

Senior Video

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2004

I am on spring break this week! That sentence gets an exclamation point because it’s not spring yet. Oh well, I really need this week off. So far I have slept in twice (although I didn’t sleep past 9:30), watched TV (which is something that I usually don’t do), visited with Michelle (a normal thing to do), and gotten some work done on the senior video I’m doing for the high school.

Speaking of which, I’m really enjoying making the senior video. I have to scan pictures that the students turn in, touch them up (I take all the little blemishes off the pictures, center the people in the picture (people need to learn how to take a good picture), I even do nice things like remove pimples from their faces so they look their best for all the family that will be there), put them into a slide show/video, and although this may not sound tough, it’s harder than you may think.
