I finally got to sleep in! Normally I’ll wake up at seven or eight on the weekend and I can never go back to sleep. It was so wonderful to just sleep as long as my body wanted. After waking up mom came into my room and said that dad was home from recycling aluminum cans for the Boy Scouts. There was over 600 pounds of cans. Pretty impressive.
Yesterday when I woke up there was a note on the kitchen counter from mom saying that dad was going to rent a log splitter for the weekend, and she wanted to make sure I’d be able to help Saturday morning. When I got to my car I saw another note under my wiper, saying the same thing, except it was from dad. Both left me a note, but neither knew the other had done it.
So I got dressed and all that jazz, and then helped dad split logs. We finished all of the logs and then cut up some smaller stuff. It’s nice doing work with your hands. I should be a lumberjack when I grow up
I’d never make it.
