Another Website Design and School

Wednesday, August 25th, 2004

It’s probably very obvious by now that I get really bored with the way my site looks. But the truth is that I just like to be creative, and I try to be creative through my website.

My schedule for this semester is pretty easy. Generally, community colleges, like Georgia Perimeter College, are pretty easy. I’m still taking core classes, and haven’t started anything in my major yet. Next semester I’ll take a couple of Criminal Justice classes. I’m excited about the British Literature course that I’m taking, because I really enjoy the works that we’ll be reading. Plus I had Brit Lit in high school with a great teacher, so I’m ahead of the class already. Sarah, Cody and I created some great presentations for that class, by the way.

I’m actually getting kind of bored with my website all together. Does anybody have any ideas to make it more interesting? Something that I should add or change? Just something for me to do…

I’m going back to Hiawassee this weekend so that I can get some things that I forgot to bring with me. I called my boss at the coffeehouse, and she said I could work on Saturday! A paycheck plus free coffee, it doesn’t get any better than that.

My first day living in Atlanta…

Monday, August 16th, 2004

I woke up at 6:00 this morning so I could wake up Michelle and take her to GSU. After dropping her off I decided to try to get lost in downtown Atlanta so that I could find my way back. I did it succesfully, and Michelle still had about an hour more of work to do, so I went and got lost again. Luckily, I found my way back just in time to find her walking out of the building. Then we drove around for a while trying to find a place to eat, once we found a place we had to find a place to park. After eating and walking around Underground Atlanta we found our way back to the interstate and to Katie’s house where we are now.

Moving to ATL

Wednesday, August 4th, 2004

Wow, I’m updating in the middle of the week! Everyone should be really proud of me. I don’t work until 4:00, so I decided to come to the coffee shop to get lunch. This week has been much better than last. Things are settling back to normal, but that won’t last for long. In just 12 days I’m moving to Atlanta. Classes don’t start until the 23rd but I need to get situated and register for classes, so I’m moving a week early. So here’s my plan… Leave early (like 4:00 AM) Monday so that Michelle can be at GSU in time to take her placement tests, then go back to sleep. Tuesday I’ll take my placement tests, register for classes, and go to orientation either that day or the next. Wednesday I help Michelle move into her dorm. Thursday and Friday I freak out and get ready for classes to start.

I know none of you (except maybe Katie) care about my schedule, but I didn’t have much else to say. I’m really excited about moving out. I feel like I’m just starting college even though I have a year under my belt.

There’s a 1974 convertible, gold VW Bug parked outside the window next to me. The only car I have ever wanted is an old VW Bug. Maybe one day.

Three police cars, two ambulances, one emergency vehicle, and one fire truck drove by about five minutes ago. Another couple emergency vehicles just went by…
