New Apartment

Tuesday, September 28th, 2004

Since I last updated a lot has happened:
Peter and I moved into our apartment, and I promise to have pictures as soon as we have the place decorated.

Remember the problems I was having with my car? Well, it wouldn’t start one day, so I shopped around and found a guy in Hiawassee who would fix it. We got it fixed and I brought it back down to Atlanta. The next day it started making a funny noise and died again. A belt broke, and things aren’t turning. So, I’m in the market for a new car.

I got a job! I start today at Chapter 11 Bookstore. I think it’ll be a great job, and much less stressful than working in a restaurant.

Now that I’m typing I can’t seem to remember anything that has happened. I still don’t have internet at my apartment, so when I do update it won’t be often.

This week has been great except that my car has been acting up. It drives fine in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, but when it’s in 4th and 5th it doesn’t work right. I know enough about cars to know that the clutch is messed up. When I give it gas while in 4th or 5th, the engine just revs. This especially sucks because it is really hard to drive over 60 MPH when everyone around you going 80. Hopefully it will be a cheap fix.

As far as the good news…
Peter and I, accompanied by Michelle, went and found an apartment on Saturday! It’s a really nice place in a great location. I’m not any closer to school, but I won’t have to deal with rush hour traffic on the interstate any more. I move in on the 14th, and Peter will be moving in progressively until the end of the month. Once I figure out what my mailing address is there I’ll post it on my Contact Info page. That way everybody will be able to send me birthday cards for my 20th birthday on the 24th. ;)

I put in an application at Blockbusters down the road from my apartment and they called me back this morning! I’m told them I’d like to meet with them next week. That way Radio Shack will have time to get to me before I have to make any decisions. Radio Shack and Blockbusters are next door to each other, so whoever pays more, and has more opportunities for advancement will be my lucky employer.
