Almost Done
I’m on training day 35 of 50, and I can’t wait to get out on my own. I have one more week of work before I’m doing everything on my own, without the help of my training officer. It’s very nerve-racking to share the car with my training officer right now. He does things to put me under stress while I’m driving or handling calls to see how I perform under stress. It’s stressful enough as it is without him, but he’s just doing his job. I wish I could write more about my job, but the really interesting things shouldn’t be posted on the internet.

Weekend Get-Away
Michelle and I are in Hiawassee this weekend. The main reason we came is so she can go to her scholarship meeting. Each semester the Vera-Jackson Memorial (who gives her a scholarship) hosts a brunch with guest speakers and talks about finance and surviving college for all of the Vera-Jackson scholarship recipients. After the meeting is over, they all get their scholarship checks.

It’s nice to get out of the city every once and a while and head to the mountains. The more I’m away from Hiawassee, the more I realize how much I want to move back here one day. It may not be any time soon, but hopefully once I retire I can return for good. Life here is just so much more simple. It’s relaxing.
