After going through customs, we all loaded our luggage in a pickup truck and boarded a bus. We drove from Kingston up the mountains. Combined with driving on the left side of the road, the narrow streets on the side of the mountain are terrifying. At time, I was certain we were going to crash, but our bus driver did a great job. The side of teh roads were lined with run down houses and businesses, the type that would scare people in Atlanta.
Right now we’re waiting for dinner. From what I understand, we’ll be up early to help the children here prepare for Mass. All of the children have severe mental and/or physical disabilities. The children are completely cared for by the staff and volunteers. They all take an incredible amount of attention and care.
