I had no idea about Tate City. It makes me want to go up there and see for myself. I remember in school various people said there was a part of Towns co that you could only access through another county but I thought it wasn’t true.

I bet if you look around the area….there is a ex-cop that lives back there willing to be deputized on a ON CALL PAY basis if needed

LOL, I still say we should just GIVE it to Rabun County. You should have been at the S.O. when this on house had false alarms about twice a week…AND…the first time I went there, it was very difficult to find, as it appeared you were in going around someones driveway, and the driveway to the house looked like some grown up forestry road. What a nightmare I tell you…

Yeah, I am all for a helicopter at the department. Seems to make sense given the remote locations vs response time and possibilities for search and rescue. Seems like some could use thier time to research and combine local efforts to make something like that happen instead of worrying about things that really don’t matter.
